CORE CURRICULUM IN PLANT PATHOLOGY

The Core Curriculum in Plant Pathology is required of all M.S. and Ph.D students majoring in Botany and Plant Pathology with an area of concentration in Plant Pathology. (Students may be excused from particular courses if they can demonstrate that they have taken equivalent courses in a graduate program at another institution).

I. Required Courses.

( All plant pathology students must take the 3 courses listed.):

BOT 550 Plant Pathology (5 credits)

BOT 552 Plant Disease Management (4 credits)

BOT 651 Molecular Basis of Plant Pathogenesis (3 credits)

 

II. Electives.

(All plant pathology students must select at least 8 credits from the following list of courses.):

BOT 507 Seminar (1 credit)

BOT 515 Forest Insect and Disease Management (5 credtis)

BOT 553 Plant Disease Diagnosis (3 credits)

BOT 554 Plant Pathogenic Nematodes (2 credits)**
