Diagnosis and disease management in vegetable and field crops.
Primary interests include pathogen biology and disease management. Research emphasis is on the integration of cultural and chemical practices with alternative strategies, such as biopesticides, for suppression of diseases in field and vegetable crops. Also of interest are pathogenic Fusarium species associated with various plant parts. Current research projects include studies on the biology and management of hop powdery and downy mildew, crown and stalk node rot of corn, white mold of snap bean as well as evaluating grower fields for emerging or exotic pathogens including Hop stunt viroid, Iris yellow spot virus, and Asian soybean rust.
