C.
Outside Activities
No
employee shall engage in any outside employment or activity which substantially
interferes with regular duties. Any
outside employment involving time or honorarium must have prior approval of the
Executive Head of OSU. The Faculty
Handbook defines and discusses regular work duties and outside activities, paid
and non-paid.
Federal
accounting rules limit faculty members on Federal grants to a maximum of 5% of
their time on matters not directly involved with the research for which they are
funded, even if those activities are of benefit to the University.
This rule can limit participation in Committee work and other University
matters.
